Build a model railroad as a group for the Library's Winter Train Display using library resources, electricity, engineering design, and hands-on creative arts. Ages 9-18. Registration required.

The group's final railroad creation will be on display during the semi-annual Delaware Branch Library Winter Train Display. We will take care of the storage, and the public is invited back to see the full display in January 2026. 

Bring your creativity! All other supplies provided.

Unfamiliar with "STEAM?" STEAM is an educational approach that incorporates the arts into the more-familiar STEM model, which includes science, technology, engineering and mathematics. STEAM programs can also include any of the visual or performing arts, such as dance, design, painting, photography and writing.

About the branch

The 35,000 square foot Delaware Main Library is the oldest branch of our library system, which serves the public as well as houses a majority of our administrative offices. Located around the corner from downtown Delaware, it serves as our central branch for those on foot as well as those in a rush. 


The Main Library also hosts the Delaware County Genealogical Society. Genealogical Society volunteers are in the Library to assist researchers on limited dates and by appointment.
