In preparation for the FOL "Night at the Races" gala, craft your own fancy hat while learning about the history of our local Little Brown Jug harness race! Supplies provided. Registration required.

Ready to get dressed up for the Friends of the Delaware County District Library Night at the Races Gala fundraiser? Don't forget to make your own Derby hat! Join us at the Liberty Branch for a fun evening of crafting and fashion fun to prepare for the Gala! Bring your own hat or use one of ours, and decorate it with the provided materials. You may also bring any specific decorations you prefer.

During the crafting session, Jay Wolf, Public Relations Director for the Little Brown Jug, will present a brief history of Delaware's own premier harness race. The founding of the Jug, which actually set its roots more than 80 years ago, is as unique as it is interesting. The Little Brown Jug, the premier pacing classic for 3-year-olds, provides a fascinating chapter in the more-than-a-century-old history of harness racing and the standardbred sport.
