Kids, tweens, and families: submit a diorama featuring Peeps! Drop-in for a workshop on March 30 or pick up supplies at the Library later and craft at home. Supplies provided.
Popularized in the 19th century, the diorama has been a staple of the historical preservation society, allowing viewers to gain a better understanding of the subject presented in the diorama.
Invented in 1948 by the R. E. Rodda Candy Company and known for their bright colors and distinctive shapes, Peeps have been a popular household treat in the Spring.
Now, the two come together for the ultimate art form: Peep Dioramas.
Children and their families are cordially invited to attend our Peep Diorama Workshop on March 30th, where they can learn some fun Peep facts and get a head start on creating their diorama using library supplies. Can't join us? No problem! Stop by the Children's Desk at the Liberty Branch between March 30th and April 6th to pick up a small bag of Peeps and a diorama entry form so you can work on your diorama at home. Submit your diorama to the Liberty Branch between March 30th and April 9th.
Completed dioramas will be showcased at the Liberty Branch from April 11th to 17th.
This is a non-competitive showcase, and there are no prizes or official judging. We welcome all family-friendly submissions.
