Liberty Community Room A, Liberty Community Room BHistory enthusiast, Van Young, will fly us back in time to the Chicago World’s Fair to see fascinating photos & learn what was state of the art in 1893. Registration required.
The World’s Columbian Exposition, also known as the Chicago World’s Fair, was held in Chicago from May 5 to October 31, 1893. Celebrating the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus’s 1492 arrival in the New World, the exposition ended up having a profound effect not only on Chicago, but American architecture and art.
Come see the fascinating pictures and learn about more about the Fair and inventions of the time!

Van Young has been a resident of Columbus for the last 44 years, is active with two Central Ohio civil war organizations and is the current President of the Griswold Center American History Study Group. Young has over 70 American history, travel and current event topics, and presents to area history groups, senior centers, retirement villages and local colleges. He has four grandchildren, plays pickleball, and looks forward to visiting many of the battlefields and museums associated with the Civil War and our unique and fascinating American history.

Liberty Branch Library
The newest branch in the Delaware County District Library system, the Liberty Branch Library opened Monday, March 27, 2023 to serve the greater Powell and Liberty Township community. Located just west of Liberty High School in the Olentangy School District, the branch boasts 42,000 square feet on three levels to meet the needs of all residents.
