Your Words Can Save a Life: QPR Training
Presented by HelpLine
Monday, August 24
6:00pm - 7:00pm
Orange Branch Library
Orange Community RoomLearn QPR - Question, Persuade, and Refer - a hands-on suicide prevention training that instructs how to recognize warning signs and respond in a clear, caring way.
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer - three simple steps you can use to support someone who may be in crisis. Representatives from HelpLine will teach attendees what to say, how to ask directly about suicide, and how to connect someone to help without freezing up or saying the wrong thing. This is for everyday people, friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, and anyone who wants to feel prepared. The more people in our community who know QPR, the more chances we create for someone to be supported before a crisis turns tragic.
