Join us to celebrate Toni Morrison with a showing of Beloved, a movie adaptation of her novel of the same name. The movie is rated R and may not be suitable for all viewers. Registration required.

Toni Morrison, a native of Lorain, Ohio, was the first African American woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. From February 18, 2026 - February 18, 2027, Ohio is celebrating her remarkable life. This statewide celebration is designed and led by Literary Cleveland, Ohio Humanities, Ohioana Library Association, and the Toni Morrison Society. From movie showings and cook book clubs, to festivals and history tours, you can check out all the events at Ohio Celebrates Toni Morrison.

The Community Room will remain available for an additional 30 minutes after the movie for an open and unfacilitated discussion reflecting on the movie, Toni Morrison’s books, and her life.

Can't make it on this date? Liberty Branch will be hosting the same showing on Saturday, February 6 @ 2:00 pm.

About the branch

The Orange Branch Library is located in Orange Township just north of the township's fire station, park and pool. At 33,000 square feet, this branch has a drive-up book drop and drive through pick-up window, along with many other special sustainable building features. The building also houses our Outreach Services Department and the Imagination Garden.
