Great GeekFest Comic-Con

Welcome to the Great GeekFest!

The Great GeekFest is a celebration of all the things people geek out over. Come and share what you’re geeky for in the home of all geekdoms – the Library. Whether you’re a die-hard cosplayer, a video game nut or a casual fan there’s something to entertain you all day. Admission is FREE and all ages are welcome to attend. We’ve even got an area for the littlest of “geeks.”

Tonks and the Aurors

On the Main Stage at 12 o’clock! Tonks & the Aurors is a wizard rock band (music about Harry Potter) created and fronted by Steph Anderson. Since 2007, Tonks & the Aurors has traveled North America and Europe playing in libraries, bookstores, and nerd conferences. They have released five full-length albums and an EP. Recently, Steph has expanded her “Muggle” discography to include an additional album and three EPs featuring songs that draw inspiration from The Hunger Games series, Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series, John Green’s books, and even The West Wing.

Rory Rennick Magic

The mysterious and captivating Rory Rennick will be strolling throughout the GeekFest to wow you with his roving magic. From the silly to the sophisticated, Rory aptly weaves sleight-of-hand with sleight-of-mind magic laced with interactive comedy. With his passion to help change lives for the better, Rory utilizes his background in the psychological and social sciences, history, storytelling, visual, and musical arts to present entertainment that you won’t soon forget. Catch Rory all around the GeekFest.

Cosplay

The Great GeekFest Cosplay Contest is an hours-long event in which participants of all ages can show off their best cosplay with a chance to win fantastic prizes. The contest features three divisions; for children (ages 0-11), teens (12-17), and adults (18 and over). Contestants must pre-register before noon to participate. Register here: https://forms.gle/Y2LX8LgJQ1iKyvw28

About the branch

The 35,000 square foot Delaware Main Library is the oldest branch of our library system, which serves the public as well as houses a majority of our administrative offices. Located around the corner from downtown Delaware, it serves as our central branch for those on foot as well as those in a rush.

The Main Library also hosts the Delaware County Genealogical Society. Genealogical Society volunteers are in the Library to assist researchers on limited dates and by appointment.

DCDL welcomes all people to our programs and events. If you require ASL interpretation or other reasonable accommodations, please contact us at pr@delawarelibrary.org.
