Join us for a virtual visit from Nita Sweeney!

Nita Sweeney is an award-winning author of the running and mental health memoir, "Depression Hates a Moving Target: How Running with My Dog Brought Me Back from the Brink," and the writing journal, "You Should Be Writing," presents about exercise and mental health.

At 49, a chronically depressed and grief-stricken Sweeney saw a social media post from a high school friend about running. Intrigued, she leashed up her yellow Labrador retriever, laced up her running shoes, picked up a digital kitchen timer, and set out to run for sixty seconds. "Depression Hates a Moving Target" chronicles her couch-to-marathon story and her experience using exercise to manage anxiety, depression, and mania. She will also answer questions about running, mental health, her writing journey, and her new book.

All participants must register in advance to receive a link to the Zoom event to meet with Ms. Sweeney.
