Dan Santat is a graduate of the Art Center College of Design and has published over one hundred books for children. His most notable titles include The Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend, which won the Randolph Caldecott Medal in 2015, the #1 New York Times best-selling road trip/time travel adventure Are We There Yet?, and the New York Times best-selling book After the Fall (How Humpty Dumpty Got Back Up Again), which was named best book of the year on numerous publications including NPR and The New York Public Library. His artwork is also featured in numerous picture books, chapter books, and middle-grade novels, including Dav Pilkey’s Ricky Ricotta series.

Dan lives in Southern California with his wife, two kids, and many, many pets.

Minh Lê is the award-winning author of Drawn Together (winner of the 2019 Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature) illustrated by Caldecott Medalist Dan Santat, Let Me Finish! (an NPR Best Book of 2016) illustrated by Isabel Roxas, and The Perfect Seat illustrated by Gus Gordon (all published by Disney-Hyperion). He is also the author of Green Lantern: Legacy (illustrated by Andie Tong), his debut middle-grade graphic novel for DC Comics and has several other unannounced projects in the works.

In addition to writing books, Minh is a federal early childhood policy expert and has worked in education at the national, state, and local level — both in and out of the classroom. He received his bachelor’s in Psychology from Dartmouth College and a master’s in Education Policy from Harvard University. He has been published in the New York Times, The Horn Book, Huffpost, and NPR. Minh was also named one of the 100 Coolest Dads in America by Fatherly in 2018 (landing somewhere between LeBron James and President Barack Obama).

Outside of spending time with his wonderful wife and kids, Minh’s favorite place to be is in the middle of a good book.

Books are available for purchase through Beanbag Books. Anyone purchasing as part of Dan and Minh's virtual visit will receive a signed bookplate!

Dan and Minh's visit is presented by the Delaware County District Library, in partnership with the Friends of the Library and Beanbag Books.
