Meet Dr. King

Performed by Bright Star Children's Theatre

An introduction to an American hero and will inspire young audiences to use peace, leadership, and conflict resolution in their own schools and communities. Great for Pre-K and higher!

This performance by Bright Star Touring Theatre is best for Grades Pre-K and higher. Teachers may access the performance Study Guide and Curriculum Standards to incorporate the performance into classroom lessons.

Meet Dr. King is a wonderful introduction to the life and work of one of America’s most influential men. This show is perfect for younger audiences, serving to introduce students to major concepts of Black History like freedom, integration, and equality. Meet Dr. King helps young people begin to understand the importance of Dr. King and the Civil Rights Movement. Follow along as the play takes us from Dr. King’s life as just a young boy experiencing racism for the first time, to meeting his wife, Coretta, to becoming a pastor and finally a national inspiration.

Masks will be required for all patrons who participate in an indoor library program.

This presentation will also be at the Delaware Library on January 17 at 6:30 pm.

About the branch

The Orange Branch Library is located in Orange Township just north of the township's fire station, park and pool. At 33,000 square feet, this branch has a drive-up book drop and drive through pick-up window, along with many other special sustainable building features. The building also houses our Outreach Services Department and the Imagination Garden.
