Come cozy up with a therapy dog and practice your reading!
Therapy dogs (and their handlers) are non-judgmental reading partners and they love hearing stories from readers of all abilities and confidence levels!
Readers can bring their favorite story, assigned reading from school, or grab a book off our shelf to enjoy with the pooch!
Registration is required. If full, please add the reader's name to the waitlist.
Registered readers will get to enjoy a minimum of 15 minutes of reading with the dog.
Readers may have to wait for their turn, but don't worry we have plenty of great books to browse while they wait!
Other PAWS for Reading Events:
The 35,000 square foot Delaware Main Library is the oldest branch of our library system, which serves the public as well as houses a majority of our administrative offices. Located around the corner from downtown Delaware, it serves as our central branch for those on foot as well as those in a rush.
The Main Library also hosts the Delaware County Genealogical Society. Genealogical Society volunteers are in the Library to assist researchers on limited dates and by appointment.
DCDL welcomes all people to our programs and events. If you require ASL interpretation or other reasonable accommodations, please contact us at pr@delawarelibrary.org.
